Our beautiful couple, Shylii and Kuberan who both live and work in Sydney, Australia have decided to have their wedding back at their hometown, Colombo. It was a great honor to be there at Colombo to be a part of their wedding, and it was our first visit to Colombo. Many may think Colombo is literally the same as other cities in India in many aspects, but in fact it is not. Colombo has so much to offer. It is a clean and green city with minimal air, land and noise pollution. The fact that it is geographically situated on the west coast of the island, it is rather cooling to walk in the city even at its tropical climate. It is no surprise to see many Asian and Western tourists in Colombo.
We have filmed many Sri Lankan weddings in Malaysia and Australia, but never before a Sri Lankan wedding at its motherland. Hence we were looking forward to filming theirs. We were up at 4am to start the shoot with Shylii and Kuberan’s preparation part. This is the first time we see a bride who’s so confident with her friends, aunties and herself’s make-up and hair-do skills. The reason i said so is because her hair was done by her aunties, and the makeup was assisted by her bridesmaids and even Shylii drew the eye-lines herself. It was simply a beautiful Sri Lankan wedding. We would like to thank both Shylii and Kuberan and their family for their hospitality and generosity. It was an honor to be part of their wedding.
It is an 8 years love relationship across 2 states, Melbourne and Perth for our couple Thanushka and Anojan. They finally got married back in November with the presence of all their relatives and friends who flew in from far and near to witness their celebration of love. Thanushka and Anojan had 2 wedding ceremony, the first was Church wedding in Melbourne and then a Sri Lankan wedding in Perth Australia. The two weddings were held across 2 cities over 2 weeks duration. It was a joyous occasion with non-stop partying between the 2 families.
It has been awhile since we last shoot a ceylonese wedding. And it was fun shooting theirs last week. Vijay and Sudha is one loving couple; Vijay would just do everything for Sudha. On reception night, unlike other normal groom who would get dressed and prepared in hotel room together with dear wife, Vijay forgone all those and arrived early at the club house to personally check the small details and decor, to ensure a perfect wedding celebration for Sudha. We were told that Vijay has already confirmed that Sudha is the girl that he is going to married after 8 months of dating!! Here we are, presenting to you their wedding sde…
It was surely a celebration of culture for ragu and shalini, where they celebrated their love with a mix of punjab and hindu culture, and it was one of the most colorful weddings. It was the first time we saw a groom in turquoise and they both looked awesome and matching. The color made us felt so afresh; and shalini has got the infectious smile (just like her mum) that added zest to our shots and made our shooting fun.
We had some great time filming their sangeet, wedding and reception and would like to thank ragu & shalini for having us there. Cheers!
Siva and gaya got wedded at the most unusual time, which is wee hour in the morning, but according to them, wee hour is the best hour to get married. Yeah, despite the wee hour, everyone seemed thrill and excited and there was not a single moment of sleepiness. It was our twice wee hour wedding, yet it was not any simpler as we had to manage our sleeping time, ie. force our body to knock-off at early evening just so we could wake up as the clock hit midnight! (ahem…it’s no joke coz we had trouble getting to bed that early and ended up did not get to shut eyes. To those shooting a wee hour wedding next time, a good advice is to have a full glass of wine before you head off to bed.. we regret didn’t do so ) But luckily as soon as we got to Siva’s residence, we were surprised to see him sitting outside chatting with his brother and friends; and he greeted us with his most charming smile. The best part was his whole family was nice, and it sort of brighten our wee morning shoot. After about half an hour at siva’s, we went on to gaya’s. Looking bubbly and happy, she is really a simple girl, just like the girl next door. The first time we met, she told us that she had been checking out our site and we were speechless to meet another fan of ours.

About 6 months back, we had the opportunity to shoot for this lovely Indian couple — Surin and Rena, whose professions are accountant and lawyer respectively. When we were first introduced to this couple by Jason (FYI, Jason is from Camwork Photo), we thought that Surin is a rather serious person as he has the serious look. But after having a few conversations with him, it turned out that he is quite a nice and friendly person to work with. And his wife, Rena is a total-smile and absolute friendly person. On the wedding day, since it was our first attempt in shooting Indian wedding, the newly-weds were so nice to have arranged Rena’s aunt to liaise with us and inform us of the Indian wedding’s ceremony details, just so that we could capture the important moments and details of the whole ceremony that are significant to them. The whole wedding shoots were a fun and meaningful as we get to learn and understand the traditional Indian wedding rituals. It was truly a memorable one for us as well as for the Couple as things went all well on the wedding day. Both Surin and Rena were co-operative during the shooting moments… and they like the video output. *wink*
Above all, they are helpful, generous and a loving couple. We are grateful and thankful to have worked with them, as their acknowledgment of our work has given us the extra strength and confidence to continue shooting for indian weddings. Hereby, we would like to wish both of them a happy married life ahead with many children!! =)
Ladies and gentlemen, do allow us to present to you… a shorter version of Surin & Rena’s Wedding Video.
