Sindhi weddings have always been fun to cover, and the ones that we have filmed in the past were destination weddings. But this time around, it’s a local Sindhi wedding and our first Sindhi wedding filming in Mumbai. Our couple, Karan and Neha is simply sporty, and Neha is truly a down-to-earth and nice girl. We felt comfortable filming their outdoor pre-wedding, and we were actually on the set at JW Marriott poolside, Karan excitedly shared their dating story with me; the fact that this is where they normally dates..and coincidently we pick that spot for pre-wedding shoot, and it means so much to them.

It was a fantastic 4 days wedding celebration with endless “sanity” and joy. They literally have 2 sangeet nights, with perfectly-practised skit from Karan side on the first day, and spontaneous skit from Neha side on the second day. Apart from the skits, there is a great performer from Dubai who performed a nonstop spin on the stage for 10 minutes, with various moves! That was just awesome. And final omph was where everyone started tearing off other people’s shirts after they tore off Karan’s shirt and pants! It was insanely fun… pity the few victims there. Lol!

The entire wedding pulled off well with the supports from all the vendors: Ravi from Warlock Wedding Planners for amazing wedding decorations and event planning; Pooja Studio (Dubai) photography; Rishi for coordinating our accommodation and making sure everything goes well for the Doodle team; and Mr Dhamendra for arranging the transportation for the team. It was great having the opportunity to work with all of them.

Our beautiful couple, Shylii and Kuberan who both live and work in Sydney, Australia have decided to have their wedding back at their hometown, Colombo. It was a great honor to be there at Colombo to be a part of their wedding, and it was our first visit to Colombo. Many may think Colombo is literally the same as other cities in India in many aspects, but in fact it is not. Colombo has so much to offer. It is a clean and green city with minimal air, land and noise pollution. The fact that it is geographically situated on the west coast of the island, it is rather cooling to walk in the city even at its tropical climate. It is no surprise to see many Asian and Western tourists in Colombo.

We have filmed many Sri Lankan weddings in Malaysia and Australia, but never before a Sri Lankan wedding at its motherland. Hence we were looking forward to filming theirs. We were up at 4am to start the shoot with Shylii and Kuberan’s preparation part. This is the first time we see a bride who’s so confident with her friends, aunties and herself’s make-up and hair-do skills. The reason i said so is because her hair was done by her aunties, and the makeup was assisted by her bridesmaids and even Shylii drew the eye-lines herself. It was simply a beautiful Sri Lankan wedding. We would like to thank both Shylii and Kuberan and their family for their hospitality and generosity. It was an honor to be part of their wedding.

We filmed Thanushka and Anojan love story entirely in Melbourne Australia. It was fun filming Thanushka and Anojan love story as they both has a lot of funny ideas and Anojan is a sport! He would do anything for the video. Presenting to you their love story before premiering their wedding highlight to you… Enjoice!

This is the first time we film a Marwari wedding at the beautiful Gulf of Siam, Hua Hin. It is a nice experience filming Shefali and Akshay wedding, in which their wedding ceremony coverage ends around 3-ish in the morning. Very special wedding rituals with lots of fun and details! There’s so much laughter throughout their wedding festivities, and everyone party and dance whole night long for 2 consecutive days prior to wedding day. It is simply a perfect wedding.

I could still recall the moment we received the enquiry email from Shefali’s brother, Karan who came in just about one and a half month prior to the wedding date. When he enquired, we thought it was for his own wedding, but later we found that it’s actually for his sister’s wedding, and he said that he wanted to give his sister the bestest wedding memories. He is such a loving brother. The Rawat family has planned the perfect wedding for Shefali, in fact a dream wedding for Shefali and Akshay. Thank you Karan for having Doodle Studio team to cover the entire wedding festivities, it was truly a blessed wedding and a great experience for us all. Thank you for your hospitality throughout our stay at Hua Hin. Our best wishes to the newly-wed, Shefali and Akshay. =)

It was a wonderful 3-day wedding celebration for Nizar and Ayesha here at Bangkok together with their 200 family and friends who flew in from all over the world. This newly-wed has loads of charisma and personality that rock the house. Nizar, being a talented scriptwriter-cum-rapper groom, has added some creative idea into their wedding festivities, by adding a fusion touch to the Sangeet. On the other hand, Ayesha being the smart, gorgeous, humble and all the beautiful traits from her parents, has never fail to warmth the guests with her sweet smile.

The entire wedding was awesome, with Nizar rocked the Sangeet with his band’s LIVE rap performances, Khalid’s (bride’s father) attention to detail for planning such a great wedding, in which he had specially arranged 2 of the best performances in Bangkok (the Puppet show and the Thousand Hands show) for the Reception entertainment and the river cruise dinner. Khalid and Viji (Ayesha’s parents) has done so much for their daughter’s wedding, and in fact, as Ayesha said in her speech, they have given her a fairytale wedding. Our wishes go out to the newly-weds and may they live a happy life together as husband and wife. Cheers!

If one is invited to celebrate a Sindhi Wedding, he or she has to be prepared for some serious party-ing. And we do not mean just one day of party-ing but it’s a whole week long of partayy!! This is the scenario with Hiten and Mamtu’s wedding which took place at a luxury design resort at Goa last week. Both Hiten and Mamtu, who live in Dubai, has had some 200 family, relatives and friends from States, UK, Dubai, Africa, Mumbai and Korea to celebrate their 3-day wedding festivities. The 3-day celebration was all about eat, drink, dance, party and celebrate the wedding, everyday from 10am till 5-6 am the next day! The DJ kept playing the Bollywood dance hit, the bartenders kept serving liquor on the dance floor while the guests kept dancing, and the fun just goes on endlessly.

Hiten, who runs his own Event Management company (Mosaic Dubai) in Dubai, has have his friend and colleagues to help out in the wedding. His friend came up with an unique design for the mandap, and executed it with the help of the local florist. And with the blend of lightings, the whole mandap turned out awesome. The most unique mandap ever, as they used only tree branches and flowers. And as the sun set, the lightings gave a warmth atmosphere to the mandap and its surrounding. Throughout the wedding, Mamtu was seen smiling and laughing most of the time, and there was a lot of love and happiness filled on stage at the mandap. It was a mix of sentimental and happy moments in their wedding. Mamtu, being the gorgeous and kind-hearted girl she is, has always been considerate and caring towards others despite it’s their wedding celebration. Other than the couple, their family has also been showing much hospitality towards the Doodle team, and we’re most honored to be part of their wedding. Not only had we made friends with the couple, but we also befriended Photo Tantra of Bangalore.

It has been a good one week in Hua Hin; with the odd chill temperature, the strong wind, and the warmth and friendly people at Hua Hin made it a nice place to have weddings. Well, these explain our second trip to Hua Hin for wedding shoot.

This time around our Dubai couple, Kunal and Rashmi has their guests flew in from near and far to join their week long wedding festivities at Sheraton Hua Hin. Their wedding has nothing less than any other destination weddings. They have planned everything to the finest detail, from daily programs to venue decor and set-up, the guests was thrown with a fun-filled week long celebration; from having a Masquerade party night where Kunal DJ-ed on-stage, a crazy-fun poolside party where Kunal was thrown into the pool, Kunal rode on horse to pick up his bride-Rashmi, to performing a dance on sangeet night! Well, that was our handsomely cool groom. On the other hand, our pretty bride-Rashmi has quite some sentimental moment, she got teary during the Pooja and Wedding ceremony.. we could tell she is the darling in the family, very closely attached to parents, in fact her father almost tear when he was giving speech on reception night. It was rather a sentimental night for all.

Without much ado, presenting to you.. Kunal + Rashmi Hua Hin Wedding Highlight…

Happy Valentine’s Day to all lovers and newly-wedded couples out there. We would like to begin this wonderful and meaningful v-day with our gorgeous Sindhi wedding from Chennai, India. Not only was the wedding gorgeous, the couple was absolute stunning!

” You’ll have 2 kids, 1 boy and 1 girl ” was the exact sentence from the fortune teller. Well, we were not surprised to hear that. When we were with Kavi and Sonica for the wedding week, we could see that they are so immensely in love with each other, both couldn’t take their eyes off one another. Sonica is such a sweetheart, despite being the bride, she would always put others before herself. She even took the extra effort to ensure that each of us receives a welcome gift-bag upon check-in, and always ask if everything is alright with us, our rooms and etc… Well, we have no complaints but thousands of thank you to sonica, kavi and both their families for everything that they have arranged for us and for preparing an amazing contentful wedding week! The guests had so much fun at all the functions and there is no excuse not to loveee all the different functions; point 1- they have a different theme decor (with attention to details) for every function which is mind-blowing! : point 2- food is prepared to follow the theme : point 3- the open bar is always filled with liquors and it’s free-flow, so everyone could party all day and night long! : point 4- the couple was gorgeous, hosting was great, guests were sporting!

Well, speaking of Kavi and Sonica’s guests, about 350 of them flew in from near and far, to name a few; South Africa, Dubai, Shanghai, HongKong, Indonesia, UK and etc. When most of them know that we’re from Malaysia, some would start converse in chinese, cantonese and malay with us. It was really nice and warmth of them…

Without much ado, let us present to you the wedding highlight video which was premiered to all the wedding guests on their reception night. After seeing the video, most of them came to us saying that they shed tears while watching, and were glad that the couple had us to film their wedding.
