Happy New Year !!

2 January 2010

Hi all, a Happy New Year to you, wishing you a great 2010, fill with laughters, happiness, good health and all the luck in the world!   =D

It has been a tremendous great 2009 for the doodle team and we would like to thank everyone of you who have been supporting us from in and out. And to our clients out there, thank you a million for the friendship and hospitality from prenup to post-nup; you guys are simply the best. We have been fortunate to have built many friendships along the way; meeting the happy and nice couples, the cute couples, the witty and funny couples and so on; and having met some of the nicest people in the wedding industry. You guys really rock our world. Yep, all of you (clients, fellow industry mates and friends) rock the doodle’s world! That is why this post is specifically dedicated to you as a symbol of gratitude and appreciation.

Once again, there are no words to describe our feelings, but a big THANK YOU! We are who we are because of your continuous supports, and our passion in weddings; for every couple has their own love story and every wedding starts from the small little details. ;-)

Lotsa Love from The Doodle team.

Next Destination: Its Me!bourne

Travel Period: 11th January 2010 – 29th January 2010

Mission: Wedding Assignment (3 days) + Prenuptial Video-filming (spots available for booking..contact us now!!!)

It has been about 3 years plus since Jared and I left me!bourne after our degree graduation, and both of us just can’t wait to go back there and experience the me!bourne lifestyle that we both missed so much. Jared and I first met eyes in me!bourne during our RMiT university study years via malaysian student association club of RMiT, and the rest is history. Me!bourne is the city where we first met, where our love blossomed, where we shared our passion and love, where we enjoyed our companionship with one another, where we had our little weekend getaway together, where we spent most of our times with our Sefton-42 buddies and we literally experienced everything together. As the months draw nearer, all the fond memories of us in me!bourne keep flashing pass our mind, with all the images of me!bourne that we could still picture. The figure 3 years plus may not be long for most people, but the period is definitely a long one for us. Me!bourne is like a second home to us, and it just feel so great having to know that we will be flying back to our second home when our me!bourne couple booked us about 9 months back.

Yes! Jared and I will be flying back to me!bourne in january 2010 for a wedding assignment, and we will be staying there for a good 2 and a half weeks. Hence we would have plenty of time for some good me!bourne prenuptial video filming within the city (or even within victoria vicinity!!) for you me!bourne couples out there! Or if you are travelling to me!bourne during our stay there, and would love to have your prenuptial video film in an entire different feel, just give us a ring and come experience the doodles prenup in me!bourne !!

Looking back at the me!bourne pictures sure remind me of how plump and chubby i was... *blush*

A Diwali Celebration…

11 October 2009

The diwali celebration is drawing closer as the weeks pass by… and for the past weeks, we have been working round the clock, trying to finish off our on-hand wedding and production assignments before taking off to Mumbai on October 11th (which is today!). This time around, we are not there for another wedding fair, but we are there for a wedding assignment. Though we would not be here to join the diwali celebration with all of the indians out there, but we would like to take this opportunity to give a big shout out “Happy Diwali to all of you” and “Thank You” to all of our couples — both past and present couples — whom we have and are going to work with. It has been great honor to have your friendship as your hospitable has made the entire shooting a lot more easier! And because of that, it is only then we are able to unfold your love stories and produce a wedding video which is uniquely yours in the most natural and simplest way. (Thanks to pauline and sasi for coming out with such great idea and your great story!) More often than not, it is the spontaneous of both groom and bride and their participation that make their video so much fun, touching and meaningful to watch at. Therefore the credit does not go entire to the doodles team, but instead we only work out 50% of the story-telling, and the remaining 50% is from the magic of the couples. Thumbs up to all you couples out there! (Thank you ghanesh and santhia for suggesting the name ‘Red & Line’ which stands for jaRed & emmaLine, which coincidently is the same brand name that we would use for some other product line. ;)

Thank you rashmi and prenav for inviting us to celebrate diwali with you and your families in kuantan. We would love to join the celebration but unfortunately we will still be in mumbai during then. Anyhow, thank you for your invitation and would love to catch up with you both sometime soon.

Once again, to all our indian friends and couples out there, we wish you a Happy Diwali in advance and may you have a nice one!

Stay tuned for our Mumbai updates… as we share our experiences in Mumbai.

Date written: 2nd October 2009 (but delayed in posting up due to busy schedule)

Today has been an exhausting day with much travelling around the cat city, which also means a lot of taxi-rides. Haha…yeap we had to take a cab to wherever our destinations are ‘coz we had no idea of the exact distance. And we had to pay RM10 for a 2km taxi journey! Hmm… for the past 2 days, we had literally spent over RM100 on taxi-rides. (This is how insane the fares are, and if we knew that the destination is within walking distance, we would have just opt to walk instead. Haha!) Anyway, the weather is not as humid as it is in KL and it is rather cooling to walk in kuching city. We barely sweat the entire day.

Soon as yinhon arrived in the city, we quickly headed out to Merdeka Palace Hotel to meet up with him and spent the evening hunting for some local food. Of course, half way through our adventure, we walked up to the St. Joseph Church (it is where joe + bel will be having their church wedding here tomorrow) for some on-site location recce. Lucky enough, we managed to join their rehearsal and captured some of their moments in still and motion.

It is our (me and jared) very first night and first time in the cat city (which is known as kuching town to many) after having landed at kuching airport just a couple of hours ago. Our mission in kuching is to cover joe + belinda’s wedding. Well, since their wedding is on saturday, so we decide to have a little work-cation. As for tonight,  all we wanted to do was to get familiar with the surroundings, do some sightseeing and a bit of window shopping.

The best part is that it even has a cozy waterfront for tourists to chill by the riverside!!! A really cozy and clean town with the preserved nature that has attracted many tourists across the world, and no wonder we see so many tourists here in the cat city! Here are several snapshots taken during our mini sightseeing adventure….

They even have an open air KFC!! How kewl is that….

And the road is super sparkly-shining… you would think it has rained before that caused the reflection on a watery road.

TUNE hotel is located in the heart of the city, just a minute away from the waterfront riverside. It has the cheapest hotel rate in town, yet it allows you to select the facilities that you want and provide you a 5-star hotel experience, with everything brand new! Yeap, you pay for the selected services at a cheap rate too. You are only charged as little as RM9.90 for a 5-star room, with additional top up of RM5 for one towel, RM12 for a 24-hour wi-fi access, RM14 for 12-hour aircond facility! (and many more… depending on your requirements.)

This is it for the night. As the night is still young in KL at this hour, but it is the otherwise here as the locals here are rather lay back. Our “work-cation” will not be complete without tasting the local food here. The food hunting adventure will start tomorrow as yinhon (another doodles) fly in tomorrow with his new toys!!! Hehe… can’t leave you out on the food, yanhan!! LOL

We will be in Mumbai city for a wedding assignment this autumn from 13th October till 18th October 2009.

If you would like to meet up for discussion or have your love story unfold, do contact us for an appointment.

the sign of love

10 September 2009

today has been a tremendous heart-touching day for us. pauline who is a kind-hearted woman, and one who puts her special students needs before herself, has awaken our awareness that these children need our society’s help, care and support.

during our one hour shoot in pauline’s class, we felt the love and care that she has for them; without feeling tire nor bore of the absence of sound in the class. in fact, she is constantly with smiley and happy face when she is with them, wanting to educate, love, care, support and protect them the best that she can. because of her talent in sign language and working with children, this is why she has opt to become a teacher in special school in order to teach the deaf children. and believe it or not, these children are just like any other ordinary children; they are as cute and naughty as others…they are super super super cute! And they are shy as well… just like megat who is shy to be on camera, is sharing his love to pauline + sasi with us here…

sasi – the groom-to-be is also a teacher in another special school teaching the disabled children. with his tender  loving care towards these children, he too plays a role as the sport teacher to megat and his classmates and they do love him as much as they love pauline.

here goes a snippet of sasi+pauline’s love story, sharing with you “the sign of love” from megat.

(do let it load fully before viewing :) )

seeing them so naive and cute just made me feel like wanting to do something to protect them from the harsh world out there; and has lifted our awareness towards the needs of the special children.

stay tuned: sasi + pauline’s love story coming to you soon…

the day is finally here to end them all…

the end of countless weeks, months and years of childhood bullies

the end of 20 years of acquaintance

the end of 9 years of friendship

the end of 5 years of relationship

and after 1 year long of planning and anticipation for their fairy-tale wedding

the counting of hours left to walk down the aisle is here

from childhood foes to best friends to lovers and now husband-n-wife-to-be

their “love story + fairy-tale” wedding will come true in about 35 hours…

A Day with Stephen Foong

27 April 2009

About 2 months back, Jared and myself were so lucky to have met Malaysia’s Celebrity Wedding Planner, Stephen Foong in person during our pitching process. In my first tele-conversation with Stephen, he gave the impression that he is a busy man, and i was quite worried that he might turn down our offer. But little did we know that he was willing to take up the offer despite his busy schedule!

As we were only given 2 weeks’ time to interview Stephen about his opinion on Baba-Nyonya wedding, he made every effort to make it possible for us — even if it means throwing us a trip to Pangkor Laut Resort, while he was there on work-cation! We felt so much honored to be invited by Stephen. He is very much a down-to-earth person despite his fame in the industry. His thoughtful, generosity and kindness to have arranged our stay at PLR, taking care of our accommodation from A to Z in a short period of time, has had us speechless. We could not have agreed more, he is a great host, as he even took the initiative to show us around the island resort!

Eventhough we could not go beyond the pitching stage, but we are fortunate to have earned a new friend.

To Stephen, thanks a bunch for everything and we sincerely appreciate your kind deed. Cheers!  =D

Here is a snippet from the interview…

A Day With Stephen Foong from Doodle Studio on Vimeo.

Having a perfect ‘Cinderella’ wedding has always been the fantasy of many women out there. Of course, i am not excluded too! Every couple wants their once-in-a-lifetime wedding to be an unforgettable ones, and the terms ‘awe-inspiring’ and ‘glamorous’ are not out of the equation. Not talking about the grand ballroom banquet. But a “dreams come true” wedding.

The dreams of walking down the aisle in a white wedding gown, footprints left on a private sandy beach, breeze of the coastal wind, announce the-ever wedding vow as the sun sets into the goldish coastline and as the gentle touch of waves sweep the white talcum beach. It is a dream wedding. A beach wedding. A destination wedding. Best of all, it is your ultimate private nuptial.

Perhaps you may find the answer at Avillion Resort Port Dickson.
