Hari and Losni’s wedding was our first wedding and love story filming coverage in Sydney. Hari and Losni is one unique couple. Boy, where do we start… Okay, first off, they are pretty spontaneous and playful couple. It is rare to find such great combination couple who are meant for one another. Trust me, when we say they are playful, it’s meant to be a positive compliment. Reason being, we had so much fun shooting their concept love story video. During the discussion, Hari has expressed their idea to incorporate an old school bollywood-tamil hit song dance-moves into their love story. And during the shoot within Sydney city, we were fascinated and shocked by how spontaneous and natural they were, well.. Hari has got the “click” with the dance moves whilst Losni is natural by heart, there were not many re-takes needed with them.. it all came so natural. We loved it when Hari does the cool “Saturday night fever” moves on the street. If you think his opening moves are awesome, check out the awesomely-cheesy dance moves of theirs when the old-school bollysong make a hit in the love story video below. It’s quite awe-spiring when Hari and Losni admit that they have been visualizing the entire dance scene for the past months prior to the shoot! They wanted to add the song in as this song meant a lot to their parents, and so they wanted to bring back some nostalgia on their reception night; to make it a part of their parents’ night too!!

Okay, enough of the tease, here we present to you “Hari + Losni Sydney Love Story” video…

Finally it’s Raj and Hanusha (also known as asha)’s turn after a year of long wait. After having shot their engagement and love story in the past few months, it was more like attending a good friend’s wedding. It was indeed an honour to be there for them; and words could not express how happy we are for them on their wedding day. Wishing raj and hanusha a happy and blessed married life. Without much ado, here goes their wedding highlight and their love story… =)

RAJ + HANUSHA | WEDDING HIGHLIGHT from Doodle Studio on Vimeo.

Raj and hanusha (asha) was enemy back in the college years; and everyone in the college then knew of this fact. Well, destiny has its way to turn this enemy couple into friendship through their mutual circle of friends. But God did not stop just there. Little did they know that they would see the love sparks in each other’s eyes through this friendship. Eventually they no longer tease each other, and started to care for one another from that “sparks” onwards. Well, it may be clueless to their friends and others, but the god  and themselves know how it all began. ;) Raj and asha is ever the wonderful couple and one could really find comfort hanging around with them. We have known them for over a year, and have had a total of 4 shoots with them, and with each shoot, we got to know them more in depth. Raj is a super mr. nice and gentle guy who would do give the best of everything for Asha. Looking back at the love story video, reminds us that Raj do has his “cute” charm spell. Hehe.. but hanusha has her bewitched spell too. She has a warmth and friendly smile; with a great talent in tradition indian dance, to add up to her happy-go-lucky charm!

We were grateful to have their friends for the love story shoot, as everyone was so committed and involved in the production, to make every shoot possible! For this, we have to salute Raj for his effort in practising for the puppet show! He self-handled the two puppets at the same time.. simply impressed!

Latha and Shree is one of the few couples who cherish wedding video more than anything else. Latha is a really nice girl; like any girl out there who dreams and wish to have the best for her wedding. On the wedding day, latha was still worried if things did not go well on stage, and asked if everything was okay for the video shoot during the break of saree-changing time. Her mum and herself was very much concern of the video output; they had arranged the lightings to fit for video and ascertain that we would have the best angle coverage on stage.

Alright, without much ado, let us present to you Latha & Shree wedding highlight… Enjoy!!

Bernard and Vijaya got wedded at KLCC Convention Centre about 3 weeks back. This newly-wed had simplified their wedding ceremony to include the reception right after the wedding ceremony. The wedding was a blast with Jay (Jay’s Perfect Dreams) as the official appointed planner and decorator for their wedding. It was great to work with Jay again and thanks to Jay for coordinating the event from A to Z, ensuring all suppliers could work well together as a team. The ballroom was beautifully decorated; jay had covered the entire ballroom with white clothes draped down from ceiling. Nonetheless, it was a blessed wedding with the presence of close friends and families.

Nothing beats a blessed wedding. Nagen and Dasha got wedded 3 weeks ago in KL with the presence of all friends and families to partake in their big celebration; as quoted in the speech by one of the guest speakers, they don’t just have guests from the same ‘village’, but also guests from other ‘village’. Nagen and Dasha had a fair bit of speakers on that night, all came prepared with their sweet short speech for and about the newly-wed. It was yet another beautiful wedding.

After having watched prashi and anu’s ‘sweetie & cutie’ love story, many of you may be eager to see their wedding highlights. Here goes:-

Prashi and anu got wedded back in January in Melbourne, with the presence of their relatives and friends who came from near and far to celebrate their big day. Despite they have lived in aussie for over 20 years, they do not forget the traditions and customs, for they still practice their tradition wedding rituals. Their parents had even special order a mandap from india just for their wedding use, just to name a few here. To simplify their wedding: One young loving and happy couple, wonderful family, spontaneous and hospitable hearts, great wedding; simply a nice wedding with lots of love from friends and families. Throughout our week long stay in doncaster, you and your family have been tremendously nice and hospitable to us.

Without much ado, here is their wedding highlights… enjoy it!

Umaparan + puva had expressed their love on the love story video that we did for earlier couples; and they just love the way we filmed and story-telled it, and wanted us to cover their love story in the unusual way that is, based on their proposal story. It had not struck us that puva is one of our no.1 fans as she told that she kept checking on our videos from our website. We felt blessed to have another new-found friendship. They treated us as though we are long time friends and not as vendor; and the bond between us was immediately developed on the first meet up. During the discussion, puva kept sharing their love story with us, but paran kept quiet most of the times and we thought he was uncool with the idea. But in fact he has already started brainstorming for the shooting! They mentioned they wanted to film the process of their proposal and how paran actually planned and prepared for the day to pop the question. And they came up with the idea to film it from ring purchasing at DeGem to proposing on the ship. This is awesome and thanks to their planning and arrangement with all involved parties, we managed to film it openly with permission at DeGem outlet, Lasposa and Palace of the Golden Horses.

On the shooting day, they had even arranged and booked a fine-dine boat from the Palace of the Golden Horses (which was where the proposal took place last year) in order to relive the proposal moment. And for all we know, booking the boat is not cheap, it cost them five hundred bucks for the fine-cuisine on the boat for an hour. Well, we could tell it meant alot to them to re-shoot the big day there and we had suggested paran to get her a surprise present; to really surprise her. We did not see this coming, but turned out that paran bought the similar first present that he’d gifted her which she accidentally lost it during their dating years, and it definitely shocked her! Well, puva is definitely de GEM and princess in paran’s heart for he gave her the dream ROM at KL Tower, dream reception at Palace of the Golden Horses and dream lazare D! He really nailed it and he even set the bar high for the guys out there now… *wink*  LOL.

It is the wedding season now and our schedule is crazily packed up with weddings and production work. And things were not any different on the wedding week of kumaran and sri. We got there at sri’s house as early as half past five; and it was crazy as we only had 2.5 hours of nap due to the hectic wedding week. We thought we were the only ones with the least sleep time, but boy we were wrong when we learnt that sri and her family had not slept for the entire night and had been running around in wee hour in order to look for her engagement blouse. But with god’s blessing they finally found it in one of the closet drawer; and it was actually there the entire time and sri told that somehow it must be their tired eyes that had fooled them and had them overlooked it. Pity sri coz she had to drink loads of coffee in order to stay awake till evening!  Yep, that’s a tough one.

Thanks to Jay of Jay’s Perfect Dreams for having their wedding hall nicely decorated with superb on-stage lighting! This is the first time a couple has used so many different lighting to lighten the entire wedding stage, dimming down the rest just to create a warm ambience for their stage ceremony. Well, the output was marvelous on the video as the groom and bride could stand out even more in the video without having us using additional lightings!! So far they had the best lighting i must say.

We wish sri and kumaran a happy married life and all the best!

Anil + Hema | Wedding SDE

17 December 2009

We first met anil and hema about few months back for discussion on their wedding video; it was then we learnt that they are nice couple and liked our style, and had booked us on the spot.

On their wedding day, they had their wedding ceremony live feed to outdoor area, for the convenience of the relatives and friends who were sitting outdoor. She is the ‘in’ bride that we have had so far with blonde hair, and he is the handsome-looking groom, and this makes them a perfect match for one another.

Here you are, their sde video which was premiered on their reception in Holiday Villa Subang. Wishing them a happy married life!!

ANIL + HEMA | SDE from Doodle Studio on Vimeo.

The past weekend has been hectic for us as we had 3 weddings back-to-back! Kannan and hema had their temple wedding back in their hometown, seremban. We actually drove down to seremban in the wee hour, and got there as early as 4.30am. It’s funny that we have not met up with hema and kannan before, and not even when they signed up with us about half a year back coz all was done via email. It was only 2 weeks prior to their wedding that we met up with them. It was actually Jay, their wedding planner and decorator (from Jay’s Perfect Dreams) who reminded that they should set a meet us in person before their wedding. Kannan and hema has left a good impression on us; they are both a nice person, sweet and cute girl, a shy guy just like the boy next door, a bride with a unique-liking for sarees ;) and a lovely 9 years couple!

Here is their sde video… cheers to the newly-wed!

Smile… is the word to describe our dear couple bala and sherly. This is one of the reason we have selected this song for their wedding sde as it suits them totally! Bala and sherly tied the knot on Nov 22nd and that was a fine and refreshing morning to cover their wedding in subang usj. Our morning was filled with warm welcome by sherly and her family when we were to cover the prep. The time spent at bride’s residence was thus far the shortest in our record, yet the coverage was not any lesser as compared to the rest, in fact it was rather efficient. And the amazing part was everyone ignored us doing our thing; and they were all so natural with us there. They did not disturb, and in fact they were just silently watching from side on how we do things. And during the wedding procession, bala and sherly was in total smiley face that was like a contagious infection that could make people smile along. Even as we were editing the sde, his infection smile has had us dedicating this song to them both as we felt the song suits them best. ;)

Their wedding went so well that we feel the credit should go out to bala, sherly, their family members and relatives for being so so cooperative and understanding through out the wedding procession. It was rather unbelievable; when bala said we had the full authority to ‘shoo’ anyone who gets in our way during the shooting, and we thought it might be rude if we constantly keep shoo-ing people. When one of the uncles was blocking during the procession, jared politely asked him to step aside, the uncle turned around and gave us a shocking warm reply ” yes yes … please please ” with a warm smile. And another time when few relatives were blocking when they were giving blessing to the newly-wed, bala’s sister noticed that and she immediately asked them to step aside, so as not to block the video! And it is a “wow” thing for us, coz it is as though they realized the importance of the wedding video to bala and sherly, to not want to disrupt the photographer and videographers’ work.

Thank you guys to have us there and it was nice working with you! Cheers… Here is their SDE video. Enjoy! =)

both kumar and prema had their hindu wedding ceremony at the coziest temple of all —  sri raja rajeswari temple, ampang. guess what? their wedding was held on the same day as malaysia’s independence day! (yeap, our very own merdeka day!!)

kumar and prema started dating for a short period of time. and on one fine day when prema was back in her hometown in muar on her birthday, he decided that it was time for him to meet her parents. despite it was a working day, he took off from work and drove all the way from kl to muar secretly without telling her. according to him, his purpose was to present the birthday cake to her and to introduce himself to her father, and drove back to kl thereafter. well, kumar later told us that it was the only time he felt that the journey to muar was short!!! lol.. *wink*   subsequently, all went well after the meet up.

on their wedding day, they had everything planned out so well and unique from the rest. i must say the interior and exterior deco of the entire wedding venue was superbly done by jay’s perfect dreams. kumar and prema wanted their friends and relatives to have their blessings captured, hence they had arranged one of the friends to in charge of that so as to guide the guests. on top of that, they had even requested that all guests (and including the suppliers) were to wear traditional attire to suit their wedding theme. and luckily we managed to pull something out in the last minute, which is somewhat similar to jippa.

cheers to kumar and prema.  =)

sunil + sageena. another love struck long distance couple.

sunil | a best friend and colleague of our client, ghanesh from belgium.

sageena | just like santia (ghanesh’s spouse) who fell in love through the distance with her “prince charming” from belgium.

sunil | i started addressing her as miss sageena, and slowly to miss potential…

sageena | he used to sing a Hokkien song to me which got me all cracked up laughing…

sunil | i’ll make sure that she feels comfortable with the new place in belgium and that each morning she will start her day with a smile

sageena | he doesn’t have to be lonely anymore, he doesn’t have to worry, at least he has got a partner and a wife… and we’ll go through life together

After about 4 days stay in JB; with the filming of Kumar and Amara’s wedding, the Doodles (Jared and Emmaline) experiencing the joy of celebrations, getting to know their families and friends, the warmth lunch treat by Kumar’s dad, the thrill of the exotic outdoor shoot, the friendly heart-to-heart talk plus beer-talk, the hectic part of having to run from one place to another where we constantly get lost in the middle of Pasir Gudang and JB city (well, our sense  of directions are not bad, but i supposed it is the misleading signboards around the town. *chuckles* ), the recce of shooting locations, but that was a work-cation full of adventures and fun!!! Hey, we are not complaining about outstation assignments,  but we always find it exciting as we never know what awaits us! ;)

Never had we thought we could find such exotic cargo location for our outdoor filming in JB. We were so frantic that we wanted to immediately pulled over by the roadside to recce the cargo place, but the time did not allow so. During the journey, Jared kept saying that how nice it would be if we could bring the couple there for outdoor shoot. And we thought to ourselves it could not be possible as it could probably be a private property area, but then when we spoke of the idea with Kumar, he was “wow-ed” and responded that a famous Bollywood director had filmed an entire music video there at the Cargo site! The idea took him by surprised and he was thrilled and agreed that we should just film it there. We could still remember the exact word from Kumar: “Eh, you guys are really something lar.. You could see what a Bollywood director sees!”

The cargo-shooting went well despite the fact that we had spent nearly 2 hours under the hot-burning sun. Although we were exhausted, but we still managed to drag ourselves back to KL and cover their next event.

After just one week of their wedding in JB, after all the on-going celebrations among the families, and after all the relatives visitings; Kumar and Amara were all set to head back to KL and started their preparation for the Reception Dinner in Shah Alam. Despite the tight schedule, with so many to do and handle at the same time, they had managed to pull it together with the help from both their families and close friends. It was a real fun and happy day for everyone.

Here is a snippet of their wedding and reception. Ready for take off? … Here you go, in 3…. 2…. 1….

Ghanesh and Santia, a love struck couple through arranged marriage. When they first shared and unfold their love story with us, our jaws almost dropped to the ground. Well, with the way they communicate with each other, no one could have thought it is an arranged marriage, as they are so much in love with each other, so much so that one would think they have known each other for ages! As told by the couple, their year long courtship was 95% long distance and 5% face-to-face meet up. But of course, distance never set them apart, as they were on skype for hours, every night. I suppose that is the power of love when 2 people click!

After having planned their wedding over skype and phone for months, the “beautiful day” of their lives was finally here. Santia with her dashing look, while Ghanesh with his utterly charming smile; and with the help of their brothers and cousins to run the entire 4-day events, the wedding outcome was amazingly great.

The doodle’s team would like to have a big thank you shout out to both Ghanesh and Santia for having us there through out your wedding events. It was truly a fun-filled wedding with lots of happenings! We were glad and blessed to be there; and hope you guys enjoyed our company too. May you both have a pleasant trip back to Belgium and a wonderful life as you start anew as husband and wife.

Have your speakers on as we unfold the highlights of their “beautiful days” ….

Groom: Jagdeve
Bride: Dina Maria
Wedding Planner: Jay’s Perfect Dreams
Photographer: Jason Victor Photography | Nick
Videographer: Doodle Studio

Our very first combination wedding — Dina & Jagdeve, our very first couple who got married in two wedding customs, both temple and church wedding. The reason being Dina is a Catholic herself. Hence the combination wedding. ;-) And we had the opportunity to film their weddings about 2 weeks back.

It was yet another wonderful experience as we get to work with all familiar faces in the industry — Jay from Jay’s Perfect Dreams for wedding planning and decorations, and Jason Victor from one of the 7 signature wedding photographers. It was great to work with Jason again since our last wedding assignment. And Jay, needless to say, has always been helpful and accommodating to ensure that the entire weddings went all well.

On their temple wedding, Dina looked stunning in her wedding saree, and her smile was filled with happiness. It is no doubt that she has certainly found the man of her live, the man who would protect and love her unconditionally. And Jagdeve who has the easy-going-kind-of attitude could easily hype up the atmosphere, let alone the stage. Boy, little did we know that both Dina and Jagdeve are good dancers, Dina’s brother would have came up with such heartfelt speech, and the fireworks moment on their reception too.

Nevertheless, the wedding was smooth sailing. During the shoot, I had a small chat with Dina’s mum and found out that it was their family first-timer in an Indian wedding, as they are Catholics. She claimed that it was a rich yet colorful indian wedding, which was truly an eye-opening for her.

Our friend, Nick has helped us to capture several photos on their wedding…thanks bro. Here are a few of the candids from the lot.

Wait no further, let’s check out Jagdeve + Dina wedding highlights video … Turn on ya speakers and enjoy ….

Wedding Venue: Nagamuthu Mariamman Temple, Taiping Perak
Reception Venue: TNC Hall, Taiping Perak
Groom: Anand
Bride: Priyal

What a sensational indian wedding it was, with the rich southern indian wedding ritual, brightly colored sarees, indian dances, indian classical and modern music, the fireworks, the fun, the joy, the excitement, and most important of all — the laughter of happiness! The love was truly in Taiping’s air for Anand and Priyal.

When we first met Priyal during her trip to KL, the first impression that we have on her was that she is a soft-spoken, polite, thoughtful and pretty girl. During then, we didn’t meet face with Anand as he was on the job in outstation. And the first time that we met him was on their wedding day in Taiping, April 30th. Boy, he seems fierce to the casual eyes but as we got to know him more through the dinner reception, it appears that he is indeed the boy next door. He is such a shy yet loving husband…

Despite not knowing how to dance, yet he takes the effort to have the first dance with his dear wife, Priyal on the stage!!! And gorgeous-looking Priyal was thoughtful as she even asked her sister to be our informant through out the event. Well, the only information that we have missed out is that Priyal has an identical twin sister, called Priti! They both look so much alike and i thought Priti was Priyal when we were there during their preparations. Hehe… a confusion. *wink*

Towards the end of the reception and when Doodle team was about to wrap up, Anand personally served us (the entire Doodle team) food and insisted that we shall only wrap up after we have filled up our stomach, as he was concerned of our ‘stomach’ well-being.*chuckle* Thank you Priyal and Anand to have us on your wedding. =D
Here are some snippets from the wedding scene. Enjoy their wedding highlights video!
Cheers.

Good’ay to all!

It has been a while since my last post. Yes. We are still in the wedding industry, and still in business! The past 2 months has been tremendous, as we were busy with all the enquiries and bookings! Never mind the slow booking in the beginning of the year, as our schedule for the remaining of the year is filling up fast. Having that said, we would like to make a shout out to all who have been supportive and understanding, and for booking with us! :D To be frank, it is a blessing that we have gotten the appreciation and recognition for our works from all fellow wedding partners, professions and beloved clients. Of course, our efforts do not stop here, as we would keep improvising on our skills, and keep producing the finest wedding videos for you to keepsake and reminisce over in many years to come.

For a start, let us present to you the highlights video of Muru + Shuba who got married over the weekend.

Wedding Date: 4th April 2009

Wedding Venue: Bangunan Peladang (NLFCS Hall) Petaling Jaya

Groom: Muru

Bride: Shuba

Photography: Papparazzi

Wedding Planner: Jay’s Perfect Dreams

Videography: Doodle Studio

Muru first laid eyes on Shuba back in December 2006 when both of them attended a function in Kuantan, Pahang. From then onwards, they both became friends, then lover, and finally brought the relationship to another level on 4th April 2009, where they finally got wedded!

When Muru and Shuba presented us with their childhood photos in order to do their life journey photo montage, we were surprised to learn that Muru was not much of a smiley person himself back in those days, which was the pre-Shuba years. And he has totally changed in post-Shuba years, where he has this charming smile on his face in every pictures taken with his dear wife, Shuba. I must agree, that is the magic of love, Shuba has certainly sparks up his life! Well, we are certain that both of them will live a happy life as husband and wife.

On the wedding day, the Doodle’s team (especially me and Jared) was quite nervous as it’s our first time working with Jay from Jay’s Perfect Dreams. We got there a tad earlier at the wedding hall around 1.30pm to test out the projector for “live-feed” purpose. The downside was that the projector guy told us that they did not have the BNC converter that connects our video camera to the projector, and that left us with limited time to search for that connector on a Saturday! Jared thought we could find it at on of the electronic shops in Old Klang Road, but turned out they do not sell those. In the end, we drove all the way down to Imbi Plaza and thank god, that was the one and only BNC connector that was left in that shop. Else, we might have to call off the “live-feed” feature on Muru and Shuba’s wedding. ** Phew **  A relief it was!

After much hectic, finally the live-feed is on!

After much hectic, finally the live-feed is on!

Being a co-ordinator, i had took up the chance to snap a few photos of the whole wedding event.

Jay was utterly a perfectionist, as he would not overlook any tiny details on the wedding.Nevertheless, it’s really nice to work with Jay as he would always co-ordinate the whole wedding suppliers to work in team for the best interest of the groom and bride.

Everything went perfectly well on their wedding day, from wedding decorations to food catering, every little details was well managed by Jay, the wedding planner. I just can’t help to credit him for his creative sense in decorations, as he has turned a simple hall into an awe-inspiring wedding hall, with a wedding theme! Conclusion? It was really a nice wedding.. =)

Muru + Shuba’s Indian Wedding from Doodle Studio on Vimeo.

Wedding Date: 31st January 2009
Reception Date: 7th February 2009
Wedding Venue: Majlis Perbandaran Taiping, Perak
Reception Venue: Sime Darby Convention Centre Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
Groom: Balan
Bride: Priya
Photographer: Camwork Photo
Videographer: Doodle Studio
Song and Artist: Fly Away by Daniel Powter

An extraordinary wedding this was. Certainly a grand nuptials, every little detail was well taken care of, with the help and support from close friends and relatives. It was certainly a great and unforgettable experience for the newly-wed, Balan and Priya. It was thoughtful of their future brother-in-law to arrange not one, but THREE helicopters for their wedding. Now, isn’t this an extraordinary yet grand Indian wedding?

After having dated Priya (the bride) for about 6 years since Uni days, Balan (the groom) and Priya has finally tied the knot on the 31st January back at their hometown, Taiping Perak. On their wedding day, everyone (including us) was starting to worry that it would rain in the evening when the weather turned from sunny to cloudy in the afternoon. Well, the plan was to fly both Balan and Priya’s family in two helis to arrive at the wedding ceremony venue. Hence, if it rains, it would not be possible to fly them in helis as they would be all wet and soak as they walk towards the wedding hall. Unfortunately, it started to rain in the early evening and they started to make plan for worst case scenario, which was to arrive at the wedding hall in Mercedes instead of helis. Safe to say, their wedding was blessed as the rain has finally stopped after a while, and so did they stick with their initial plan, to arrive in helis!!!

One might start to wonder if one heli is to accommodate the groom and family, another helito accommodate the bride and family, then where goes the third heli?? Well, the 3rd heli was arranged in such a way to have someone to throw flower petals from the heli while Balan and Priya walked towards the wedding hall. Quite an unusual scene, ain’t it?  ;)

At least the God made it happened for them, because shortly after their wedding ceremony has started, the rain started to pour again, and this time it was showering heavily. Hm… truly a great experience for us as well, ‘coz this was our first wedding shoot with helicopters!

On top of that, Balan and Priya was coorperative through out the whole shooting journey. Thank you guys and we wish you all the best in your marriage.  =)
