Jaipur is known for its Pink City and many couples have chosen Jaipur to host their dream destination weddings… just like our couple, Anushree + Dhruv. When Anushree first contacted us for her Jaipur wedding, the feeling was un-describable as it’d be our first Jaipur wedding coverage, and for the fact that we have heard so much about Jaipur, we just can’t wait to film theirs!

Anushree and Dhruv are both soft-spoken and nice person. Our groom, Dhruv maybe leaning towards the shy side, but he has a genuine kind heart that seems to shine from the inner-self. Often times we hear the phrase “Opposite Attraction” applies to many couples out there. But it ain’t the same for our charming couple here. Our pretty bride, Anushree is down-to-earth, sweet, lovely, has a warmth smile wherever she goes and is a kind-hearted person. One just can’t get enough of Anushree’s warm and sweet smiles.
It’s no surprise her parents got all teary during the wedding ceremony.

It was a royal jaipur wedding, as the entire festivities was hosted at grand hotels — Raj Palace, Heritage Retreat and Le Meridien Hotel. Their Sangeet was held at Heritage Retreat and it is one unique paradise resort in Jaipur. The entire ambience gives a Jaipur heritage fort feel. And to spice up the night, the Sangeet stage was surrounded by a pool of water, and if you’d see from far, it’s simply amazing and with that, we had our best Sangeet coverage ever! Ample of space for Doodle team to move-about. :) And with open-air space, the entire Sangeet stage look awesome from top view.

That was just the Sangeet place, wait till you see the wedding venue which is The Raj Palace. It is simply elegance and heritage, ideal for weddings. One needs not have too much decorations done at Raj Palace, as the place itself is simply royalty.

Presenting Anushree + Dhruv Wedding Highlight | Raj Palace Jaipur… For those who were there at their wedding, happy REJOICE and for the rest, ENJOICE!!

Love,

Doodle Studio Team

Sindhi weddings have always been fun to cover, and the ones that we have filmed in the past were destination weddings. But this time around, it’s a local Sindhi wedding and our first Sindhi wedding filming in Mumbai. Our couple, Karan and Neha is simply sporty, and Neha is truly a down-to-earth and nice girl. We felt comfortable filming their outdoor pre-wedding, and we were actually on the set at JW Marriott poolside, Karan excitedly shared their dating story with me; the fact that this is where they normally dates..and coincidently we pick that spot for pre-wedding shoot, and it means so much to them.

It was a fantastic 4 days wedding celebration with endless “sanity” and joy. They literally have 2 sangeet nights, with perfectly-practised skit from Karan side on the first day, and spontaneous skit from Neha side on the second day. Apart from the skits, there is a great performer from Dubai who performed a nonstop spin on the stage for 10 minutes, with various moves! That was just awesome. And final omph was where everyone started tearing off other people’s shirts after they tore off Karan’s shirt and pants! It was insanely fun… pity the few victims there. Lol!

The entire wedding pulled off well with the supports from all the vendors: Ravi from Warlock Wedding Planners for amazing wedding decorations and event planning; Pooja Studio (Dubai) photography; Rishi for coordinating our accommodation and making sure everything goes well for the Doodle team; and Mr Dhamendra for arranging the transportation for the team. It was great having the opportunity to work with all of them.

Read no more. Doodle Studio team proudly presents Karan + Neha Sindhi Wedding Highlight.

I was excited to see another Goa wedding enquiry pop-up in my mailbox. The beautiful Goa has never fail to mesmerize us. This time around, Grand Hyatt Goa it is! Grand Hyatt Goa hotel is a new hotel in Goa, in fact Grand Hyatt Goa hotel was just 2 months old and Ekta and Chirag’s wedding was the first wedding to be hosted there. It definitely is one of the best hotel in Goa to have weddings and vacation.

The email actually came from Ekta’s brother, Deepak who planned the destination wedding together with his wife, Anjali. We were looking forward to cover another Sindhi wedding and this time we were told there would be rain-dance pool party! We had no clue how they do that, but boy, we sure look forward to the new challenge despite our hectic wedding assignments schedule in November.

Having to be a destination wedding already sound fun, everyone is expected to stay up late every night for more and endless partying and boozing. This is one of the fun bit of destination wedding. Never needing to worry about driving home when you are drunk, coz all you need is to walk back to your hotel room. The entire 3 days wedding celebration of Ekta and Chirag was unforgettably spectacular. Their wedding was beyond our expectation. Everything was planned to minute detail. I love how their wedding decorator and planner, Serrao transformed the entire ballroom and venue according to their theme events. In fact, it was outstanding and we were jaw-dropped seeing the whole decor setup. The Sangeet, Wedding, Pool Party and Viva Las Vegas Night were simply fantabulous. Loving every single bit of it.

The couple, Ekta and Chirag has been wonderful. Ekta and Chirag are both soft-spoken, nice and humble person. They both have similar qualities; they are both passionate, positive, and are family-oriented. They are simply the perfect match for each other. When i read their love story through their wedding website, it felt like reading a fairy tale story. How bizarre to have met the “Mr. Right” and “She’s the One” at Starbucks when you were hanging out with friends, and when you least expected it to happen. According to Ekta, Chirag was in loose t-shirt and slippers when they were introduced by mutual friend at Starbucks. And it’s a sweet sweet love story from then onwards.

Doodle Studio team would like to take this opportunity to thank Deepak, Ekta, Chirag, and the rest of Khushalani and Sabhnani family for hosting a great wedding and for your kind hospitality. You guys have been wonderful, and thank you for having us on board for your daughter and son’s wedding. It has been a great 3 days experience of joyous wedding celebration. Wadayu wadayu to Ekta and Chirag again and may you both have a great married life.

It was back in April that we got an email from Pradeep, enquiring for our service. When we knew that this wedding is going to be at Mumbai, we were thrilled as we love Mumbai’s colorful city and its rich culture. And for the fact that it is going to be a Hindu wedding, it even spice up the experience. It was the first ever Hindu wedding that we filmed in Mumbai city. A great pleasure and satisfaction it was.

Second satisfaction was that both Asha and Pradeep has been so accommodative towards us and our needs. They would do their every effort to make us feel homey and comfortable during our stay in Mumbai. Asha, being a bride-to-be, has put aside her bride-to-be mentality and “privilege” of not doing anything pre wedding period, has gotten her hands and mind busy on fixing up all the wedding preparations and detailing that needed to be done, even till the day of their wedding. Well, we could see both Pradeep and Asha been having phone calls constantly, and attending to some wedding hiccups, people and vendors, in order to set everything right for their wedding. One thing that i learnt from Asha and Pradeep is that we shall never give up, not until the final moment, shall never give up despite everyone else around you say the opposite, for miracle could happen and impossible could be possible. I truly salute them both for that.

Asha and Pradeep has planned this wedding for a year, and we’re glad to be part of their wedding celebration. It is our first Brahmin wedding coverage, and it is indeed a very cultural and authentic one for us. We just love the simplicity of the wedding with its culture. They had their wedding in a beautiful and authentic temple and a roof-top wedding reception with spectacular view overlooking the Powai Lake at Renaissance Hotel. Okay, without much ado, presenting Asha + Pradeep Wedding Highlight.. Alvida!

If one is invited to celebrate a Sindhi Wedding, he or she has to be prepared for some serious party-ing. And we do not mean just one day of party-ing but it’s a whole week long of partayy!! This is the scenario with Hiten and Mamtu’s wedding which took place at a luxury design resort at Goa last week. Both Hiten and Mamtu, who live in Dubai, has had some 200 family, relatives and friends from States, UK, Dubai, Africa, Mumbai and Korea to celebrate their 3-day wedding festivities. The 3-day celebration was all about eat, drink, dance, party and celebrate the wedding, everyday from 10am till 5-6 am the next day! The DJ kept playing the Bollywood dance hit, the bartenders kept serving liquor on the dance floor while the guests kept dancing, and the fun just goes on endlessly.

Hiten, who runs his own Event Management company (Mosaic Dubai) in Dubai, has have his friend and colleagues to help out in the wedding. His friend came up with an unique design for the mandap, and executed it with the help of the local florist. And with the blend of lightings, the whole mandap turned out awesome. The most unique mandap ever, as they used only tree branches and flowers. And as the sun set, the lightings gave a warmth atmosphere to the mandap and its surrounding. Throughout the wedding, Mamtu was seen smiling and laughing most of the time, and there was a lot of love and happiness filled on stage at the mandap. It was a mix of sentimental and happy moments in their wedding. Mamtu, being the gorgeous and kind-hearted girl she is, has always been considerate and caring towards others despite it’s their wedding celebration. Other than the couple, their family has also been showing much hospitality towards the Doodle team, and we’re most honored to be part of their wedding. Not only had we made friends with the couple, but we also befriended Photo Tantra of Bangalore.

Okay, without much ado, let us present to you \\ Hiten + Mamtu Sindhi Wedding Highlight.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all lovers and newly-wedded couples out there. We would like to begin this wonderful and meaningful v-day with our gorgeous Sindhi wedding from Chennai, India. Not only was the wedding gorgeous, the couple was absolute stunning!

” You’ll have 2 kids, 1 boy and 1 girl ” was the exact sentence from the fortune teller. Well, we were not surprised to hear that. When we were with Kavi and Sonica for the wedding week, we could see that they are so immensely in love with each other, both couldn’t take their eyes off one another. Sonica is such a sweetheart, despite being the bride, she would always put others before herself. She even took the extra effort to ensure that each of us receives a welcome gift-bag upon check-in, and always ask if everything is alright with us, our rooms and etc… Well, we have no complaints but thousands of thank you to sonica, kavi and both their families for everything that they have arranged for us and for preparing an amazing contentful wedding week! The guests had so much fun at all the functions and there is no excuse not to loveee all the different functions; point 1- they have a different theme decor (with attention to details) for every function which is mind-blowing! : point 2- food is prepared to follow the theme : point 3- the open bar is always filled with liquors and it’s free-flow, so everyone could party all day and night long! : point 4- the couple was gorgeous, hosting was great, guests were sporting!

Well, speaking of Kavi and Sonica’s guests, about 350 of them flew in from near and far, to name a few; South Africa, Dubai, Shanghai, HongKong, Indonesia, UK and etc. When most of them know that we’re from Malaysia, some would start converse in chinese, cantonese and malay with us. It was really nice and warmth of them… :)

Without much ado, let us present to you the wedding highlight video which was premiered to all the wedding guests on their reception night. After seeing the video, most of them came to us saying that they shed tears while watching, and were glad that the couple had us to film their wedding. Okay, enough of say, do let it load fully and turn on your speakers to enjoy fully!! :D

We kick-start our very first wedding assignment for 2011 in Baroda, Gujarat India last week with our Sydney-based couple, Kanav and Disha. It was a wonderful journey; as we have been waiting for today for quite a while. No doubt it involved quite a bit of travelling; we flew in from KUL-Delhi-Baroda(Gujarat), nevertheless we enjoyed our trip, as we were fortunate to have the opportunity to see a fair bit of Delhi city and experience the peaceful lifestyle  and the nice weather of Baroda. It’s rather a different experience.

Kanav who is a punjabi, while Disha a gujarati, has decided to have a truly gujarati wedding back in Disha’s hometown, Baroda. Having met the lovely couple back in November in Sydney for the first time, we thought to ourselves that they are rather a shy, quiet and gentle type of couple. Yes, Disha is such a nice, simple and adorable girl; whilst Kanav is rather the shy, cool and mr. nice guy type. Well at least that was our first impression. Little did we know that Kanav is not the exact shy guy that we thought he was when we shot their wedding. Kanav, is indeed one interesting groom. He is super outgoing, super cool, super considerate, super nice and super cute. They are simply outgoing and definitely know how to enjoy themselves. Boy, we were shocked to see them on the dance floor, knowing their knack. Well, not just them, the whole bunch of their relatives and friends enjoyed themselves to the fullest, kanav’s best buddies would hike up the atmosphere by expressing their fullest blessing to the newly-wed with singing and dances! It was quite intimate and personal, fun-filled wedding. We had much fun shooting their wedding; apart from disha and kanav’s hospitality, disha’s dad has always been there to ensure that we’re doing okay, he would chat with us when he sees us, and he’s one cute and adorable dad. Now we see where Disha’s adorable gene comes from. ;)

Ps: Thank you so much again to Kanav, Disha, both family members and friends for the great hospitality, generosity, care and attention during our stay in Delhi and Baroda. Was truly a new experience. :) Finally, we wish you both a happy married life!  =))

Jai and ashley (our gujarati couple from UK) has the most unique fairy tale love story. When i first read their story over the email, i was shocked that my eyes nearly popped out! I was reading in disbelief coz it was the most romantic love story i’ve ever read, and in my heart i thought to myself that this couple must be some handsome prince and gorgeous princess to have such fairy-tale love story. True enough, when we first met them in mumbai, jai appeared to be the gorgeous, petite, sweet and kind-hearted gal; whilst ashley appeared to be the tall, handsome, gentleman and down-to-earth guy!! Lol… This couple are so deeply and madly in love with each other that they are inseparable, so lovingly-attached to one another; enjoy every minute and second of each other’s company.

When we asked why they would like to have their private gujarati wedding in mumbai, and their answer was that wedding is something very personal and that they wish to keep that private moments to themselves; and have everyone to celebrate their wedding on their reception later back in UK. And prior to having their traditional indian wedding ceremony in mumbai, jai and ashley had their marriage registration done in Las Vegas!!! This couple has their lives full of surprises everyday and he/she will never know where or when he/she will fly her/him to some surprise destinations.

This was our best mumbai trip ever, all thanks to candice and jarret from marrymeweddings — a wonderful couple, our future client, and the best wedding planner in mumbai, for arranging everything for us from being our supplier to becoming our friends in just that short few days duration!! To top it up, jai and ashley has also become more of friends than our client. It was simply marvellous, all 6 of us, 3 gals & 3 guys, and all 3 couples – 1 married and 2 soon-to-be-wed couples!!

Thanks jai and ashley for being so accommodative and friendly to us, we look forward to seeing you in UK. =)

It was just about 3 weeks back that we were in mumbai to cover melanie and creswell’s wedding. And now as i am typing this post, all the mumbai experiences that we had with the newly-wed, their bridal family and friends flashed pass my mind. It was quite an unforgettable wedding.

I could still recall creswell’s answer to our question when we asked was there any specific reason that they want their wedding to be in St Francis Xavier Church at Vile Parle, he said it is because this is the same church where melanie’s grandparents and parents got married in and it is in the same town where she spent most of her early childhood years at. And we were not even surprised to learn that they had friends, family and relatives who flew all the way from dubai, chennai and goa to attend their big day in mumbai!

On the bollywood night, it was a real nice experience when we get to see most of melanie’s close friends prepared a good number of performances on stage to entertain the couple and guests. But the fun did not stop there, the fun was followed by the roce ceremony. To see how crazy was the fun, watch their video here.

And on the wedding reception at Hyatt Regency Hotel, the fun and joy was tripled of what we had on the first two days. Boy it was all about dancing and booze-ing, so much so that the dance floor was filled with people all the time. The Dj kept playing retro songs throughout the night as mel and creswell love retros. Hence, we chose a retro song for their wedding highlight video. Hey heys, retro songs rock! Reason being? The retros got the guests’ feet on the dance floor and what do you know, they are all fantastic rhythmic dancers, it felt almost like a high school prom night where their moves were in sync with the music!! The sight filled us with awe. We could just watch them dance whole night long.

They both have such kind and charitable hearts that they had an auction on the top layer of their wedding cake where the proceeds would be donated to the Mother Teresa’s Shishu Bhavan fund. Guess what? The highest bidder was Joanne from dubai and her bid was INR 50,000!! That is close to RM6,600. And the rest of the guests had also donated generously, and the total donation collected on that night was INR 1,17,450! It is the newest idea to have a charity auction on wedding cake on a wedding reception, and yet still be able to help the needy.

It is our great honor to be there to film their pre-weddings and wedding cerebrations, and we certainly gotta thank Rochelle (mel’s sister who has done so much for their wedding preparations and to have arranged everything for us), mel + creswell, the bridal party (chris’s brother jon, anthony, dominic, steve, rochelle, jennifer, rutania and michelle), the ‘little princess’ sadaf (who is so adorable!!), julie (the american photographer from dubai), ryan (the audio manager), joe (the emcee), the harding family, the rebello family, and all the friends and relatives of mel and creswell who have been so so so accommodating, welcoming, friendly, supportive, helpful and nice through out the 3-day wedding filming plus our entire stay in mumbai. It has been an incredible experience and we enjoyed every little bit of our stay there! And it is the most enjoyable wedding that we have covered thus far.

Thank you for having us there with you guys and look forward to seeing you soon in dubai.

As you would have probably read the earlier post of our dubai couple in mumbai, here are some of the behind the scenes and stills excerpt from the video.

mumbai-6

mumbai-21

This is sadaf, the adorable little princess!! We’re told that she’ll do anything for you as long as you call her ‘princess’. So, i had to call her princess in order to have this picture with her. ;)

Our Dubai couple, melanie + creswell (better known as chris) met in college during their uni years in dubai about 9 years back. It was since then their love blossomed like flower. And after 9 long years of relationship, they had decided to have their wedding day exactly on the same date that they started dating which was on 17th Oct 2000, and hence their wedding day 17th Oct 2009!

They both had a mutual agreement to have their church wedding celebration in mumbai, with a bollywood wedding night and roce wedding ceremony prior to their wedding day. And they flew in their friends, family and relatives from Dubai, Chennai, Goa and etc to attend their big days in mumbai!

Mel + Creswell had their Bollywood Night on 15th Oct 09. It is one of the pre-wedding ceremonies that are practiced by the northern indians, and it was also their day-one of pre-wedding party! The entire theme is bollywood night party and everyone was dressed in bollywood attire. Boy, not only was it meant dancing night for them, it was also meant liquor night for all! They had all the liquors and beers ready at the cocktail counter where liquor is free flow… And mel’s bridemaids and friends had prepared many dance performances on stage for their entertainment and we could tell they really choreographed for this night. Until the end of the night, the guests had even pulled us in to join their floor dance!

On the day prior to their wedding day, they had the ROCE ceremony, it was where mel got the blessing from her relatives and friends. This is somewhat different from the southern indians as they (the northern indians) give their blessings to mel by pouring (plus showering) her with coconut milk and eggs! She was not alone, as her bridemaids were there to back her up as well! The fun then get dirtier when it was her friends turn to give their blessings. Mel and the bridemaids were showered with 2 packets full of coconut milk by their close friends!! Pity her and the bridemaids…

Finally, thanks again to mel + creswell to share your love journey with us and here is the premiere of their love story featured on their wedding reception at Hyatt Regency Hotel on Oct 17th…

(Do upload it fully for better viewing… enjoy the video and stay tuned for mel + creswell wedding highlights soon!)

Cheers.

A Happy Diwali to all Indians out there!

Yeah, some of you might be wondering where have we been as we have been out of touch for quite some time due to the inconvenience of getting a wireless internet access here in Mumbai. We are all good and having loads of fun here in the ‘Incredible India’! (well, this is actually the tag line for india tourism ’09!) And we are staying in the same suburb as Shah Rukh Khan, which is the Bandra town! Want to know more? Well, here are what i have summarized out of our past 6 days mumbai journey…

What can we say… it is simply ‘incredible’ of our couple Creswell + Melanie to bring us around the suburb and bandra town during our stay here in mumbai. On day one, we had arranged an outdoor pre-wedding shoot with them within mumbai city and bandra town. Both Creswell + Mel were so spontaneous and sporting with the pre-wed, so much so that they are so natural and loving in front of the cameras. We had several awesome shots by the sea shore along bandra town despite the sunny day. It was really hot and humid, but both mel + creswell did not complaint a tad bit of the weather, yet were so thrilled of the entire shoot! They even had their hands and feet dirty in order to get a nice shot… and the outcome? It was awesomely incredible!

During our shoot, they even introduced us to the local stall food which taste simply delicious. We had the famous ‘dani puri’ where you stuff some ingredients into the crackle and dip it into the soup, and then eat it right away. We learnt that it is one of the local’s favorite and it has since became our favorites too! Apart from that, we even tried our taste bud on the lime juice made by the locals. The lime juice is somewhat different from our local mamak ‘air limau’ as they put the ‘masala’ spice into the juice and make it thrist-quenching on a sunny day! And all of us had two glasses each! And the best part of it is that we could see Shah Rukh Khan residence from the dani puri and lime juice stalls!!! It was just a minute stroll away and we even snapped a photo in front of the gate! Luckily the security guard did not chase us off. lol…  Before we wrapped up the shoot, mel managed to get one of the rickshaw drivers to spare us the ‘classic’ rickshaw for our shoot, more-so-over we have been dying to use it in our shoot as it is the classic icon of mumbai… Well, that was the end of our day-one pre-wed shoot. ;)

After a good rest, we continued our day-two pre-wed shoot at the sanjay gandhi national park. Mel suggested that it would be a really nice place to shoot as contrast to the busy city, whereby it is more natural and it has a waterfall deep inside the forest! Mel knew it so well ‘coz she had spent a good few years in mumbai during her childhood years and she has had fond memories of the national park. True enough, when we got there, we could see what she meant with the nature jungle-ly look and feel as we had to drive a good 15 minutes ride into the jungle-ly park in order to reach the waterfall spot. Unfortunately the waterfall has dried out due to the hot weather, (as it has not been raining since september, we heard..) but we are still lucky to have the ancient caves!!! Yeap, the caves are still in good condition and it was uber-cool to have our shoot there. And the caves are one of the ‘incredible india’ visiting spots as we could see tourists and locals walk and climb their way up to the caves, like we did! It was simply amazing though we had no idea of the historical past of these caves… Well, during our shoot, the locals kept stopping-by to watch and kept thinking we were from international broadcast station! Haha… you will see why i said so in the picture later.

We will be in Mumbai city for a wedding assignment this autumn from 13th October till 18th October 2009.

If you would like to meet up for discussion or have your love story unfold, do contact us for an appointment.
