Sindhi weddings have always been fun to cover, and the ones that we have filmed in the past were destination weddings. But this time around, it’s a local Sindhi wedding and our first Sindhi wedding filming in Mumbai. Our couple, Karan and Neha is simply sporty, and Neha is truly a down-to-earth and nice girl. We felt comfortable filming their outdoor pre-wedding, and we were actually on the set at JW Marriott poolside, Karan excitedly shared their dating story with me; the fact that this is where they normally dates..and coincidently we pick that spot for pre-wedding shoot, and it means so much to them.

It was a fantastic 4 days wedding celebration with endless “sanity” and joy. They literally have 2 sangeet nights, with perfectly-practised skit from Karan side on the first day, and spontaneous skit from Neha side on the second day. Apart from the skits, there is a great performer from Dubai who performed a nonstop spin on the stage for 10 minutes, with various moves! That was just awesome. And final omph was where everyone started tearing off other people’s shirts after they tore off Karan’s shirt and pants! It was insanely fun… pity the few victims there. Lol!

The entire wedding pulled off well with the supports from all the vendors: Ravi from Warlock Wedding Planners for amazing wedding decorations and event planning; Pooja Studio (Dubai) photography; Rishi for coordinating our accommodation and making sure everything goes well for the Doodle team; and Mr Dhamendra for arranging the transportation for the team. It was great having the opportunity to work with all of them.

Our beautiful couple, Shylii and Kuberan who both live and work in Sydney, Australia have decided to have their wedding back at their hometown, Colombo. It was a great honor to be there at Colombo to be a part of their wedding, and it was our first visit to Colombo. Many may think Colombo is literally the same as other cities in India in many aspects, but in fact it is not. Colombo has so much to offer. It is a clean and green city with minimal air, land and noise pollution. The fact that it is geographically situated on the west coast of the island, it is rather cooling to walk in the city even at its tropical climate. It is no surprise to see many Asian and Western tourists in Colombo.

We have filmed many Sri Lankan weddings in Malaysia and Australia, but never before a Sri Lankan wedding at its motherland. Hence we were looking forward to filming theirs. We were up at 4am to start the shoot with Shylii and Kuberan’s preparation part. This is the first time we see a bride who’s so confident with her friends, aunties and herself’s make-up and hair-do skills. The reason i said so is because her hair was done by her aunties, and the makeup was assisted by her bridesmaids and even Shylii drew the eye-lines herself. It was simply a beautiful Sri Lankan wedding. We would like to thank both Shylii and Kuberan and their family for their hospitality and generosity. It was an honor to be part of their wedding.

It is an 8 years love relationship across 2 states, Melbourne and Perth for our couple Thanushka and Anojan. They finally got married back in November with the presence of all their relatives and friends who flew in from far and near to witness their celebration of love. Thanushka and Anojan had 2 wedding ceremony, the first was Church wedding in Melbourne and then a Sri Lankan wedding in Perth Australia. The two weddings were held across 2 cities over 2 weeks duration. It was a joyous occasion with non-stop partying between the 2 families.

Our beautiful bride, Areena and her prince charming– Faiq (better known as Chemat) got to know each other through Maths tuition. It was truly love at first sight for Chemat when he first laid eyes on the lovely Areena. Well, their love story blossomed from thereon… and it was funny how their datings were back in schooling years, as their personal bodyguards would always be around. It was fun shooting the love story with Faiq, Areena and their best friends. Their friends played the roles well, and they all were amazing actors and actresses, they spice up the story. And of course, the credit goes to Faiq and Ridwan who planned out the whole scenes.

Presenting Faiq + Areena Engagement and Nikah Highlight after a long wait. A picture-perfect couple and a royale wedding with VVIPs it was.

This young and bright couple has pretty much all the good qualities and characteristics that one should has. I cannot believe how humble they are when we met despite their background. We could easily communicate with them, and never lose their cool. It was a pleasure working with Areena and Faiq.

Doodle Studio team is honored to be the official wedding cinematographer for Faiq and Areena. In fact, we had great time shooting alongside with one of the most sought after wedding photographer in Malaysia, Grant Corban.

I was excited to see another Goa wedding enquiry pop-up in my mailbox. The beautiful Goa has never fail to mesmerize us. This time around, Grand Hyatt Goa it is! Grand Hyatt Goa hotel is a new hotel in Goa, in fact Grand Hyatt Goa hotel was just 2 months old and Ekta and Chirag’s wedding was the first wedding to be hosted there. It definitely is one of the best hotel in Goa to have weddings and vacation.

The email actually came from Ekta’s brother, Deepak who planned the destination wedding together with his wife, Anjali. We were looking forward to cover another Sindhi wedding and this time we were told there would be rain-dance pool party! We had no clue how they do that, but boy, we sure look forward to the new challenge despite our hectic wedding assignments schedule in November.

Having to be a destination wedding already sound fun, everyone is expected to stay up late every night for more and endless partying and boozing. This is one of the fun bit of destination wedding. Never needing to worry about driving home when you are drunk, coz all you need is to walk back to your hotel room. The entire 3 days wedding celebration of Ekta and Chirag was unforgettably spectacular. Their wedding was beyond our expectation. Everything was planned to minute detail. I love how their wedding decorator and planner, Serrao transformed the entire ballroom and venue according to their theme events. In fact, it was outstanding and we were jaw-dropped seeing the whole decor setup. The Sangeet, Wedding, Pool Party and Viva Las Vegas Night were simply fantabulous. Loving every single bit of it.

The couple, Ekta and Chirag has been wonderful. Ekta and Chirag are both soft-spoken, nice and humble person. They both have similar qualities; they are both passionate, positive, and are family-oriented. They are simply the perfect match for each other. When i read their love story through their wedding website, it felt like reading a fairy tale story. How bizarre to have met the “Mr. Right” and “She’s the One” at Starbucks when you were hanging out with friends, and when you least expected it to happen. According to Ekta, Chirag was in loose t-shirt and slippers when they were introduced by mutual friend at Starbucks. And it’s a sweet sweet love story from then onwards.

Doodle Studio team would like to take this opportunity to thank Deepak, Ekta, Chirag, and the rest of Khushalani and Sabhnani family for hosting a great wedding and for your kind hospitality. You guys have been wonderful, and thank you for having us on board for your daughter and son’s wedding. It has been a great 3 days experience of joyous wedding celebration. Wadayu wadayu to Ekta and Chirag again and may you both have a great married life.

It was back in April that we got an email from Pradeep, enquiring for our service. When we knew that this wedding is going to be at Mumbai, we were thrilled as we love Mumbai’s colorful city and its rich culture. And for the fact that it is going to be a Hindu wedding, it even spice up the experience. It was the first ever Hindu wedding that we filmed in Mumbai city. A great pleasure and satisfaction it was.

Second satisfaction was that both Asha and Pradeep has been so accommodative towards us and our needs. They would do their every effort to make us feel homey and comfortable during our stay in Mumbai. Asha, being a bride-to-be, has put aside her bride-to-be mentality and “privilege” of not doing anything pre wedding period, has gotten her hands and mind busy on fixing up all the wedding preparations and detailing that needed to be done, even till the day of their wedding. Well, we could see both Pradeep and Asha been having phone calls constantly, and attending to some wedding hiccups, people and vendors, in order to set everything right for their wedding. One thing that i learnt from Asha and Pradeep is that we shall never give up, not until the final moment, shall never give up despite everyone else around you say the opposite, for miracle could happen and impossible could be possible. I truly salute them both for that.

Asha and Pradeep has planned this wedding for a year, and we’re glad to be part of their wedding celebration. It is our first Brahmin wedding coverage, and it is indeed a very cultural and authentic one for us. We just love the simplicity of the wedding with its culture. They had their wedding in a beautiful and authentic temple and a roof-top wedding reception with spectacular view overlooking the Powai Lake at Renaissance Hotel. This has been an awesome coverage by far. Not that it was awesome because of the city, it was spectacular for the fact that the aunt and uncle of the groom (Akbar) has converted the entire tennis court at their home to a Concert Stage that could accommodate more than 300 people. And the fact they brought in a famous singer from Mumbai, Sonu Nigam to perform LIVE for all the guests! One of the best gift they could ever get for their nephew. If you think that is the best gift, wait till they revealed the Porsche car as wedding gift to Akbar and Nousheen! We just simply love how Mosaic Live Communications transformed the entire villa to a nice themed wedding reception. Check out their wedding highlight below for the real experience..

It’s back to back engagement ceremony filming this Summer, from Sikh, Muslim to Hindu Engagement. We have had a sikh and muslim engagement celebration, and now it is a Hindu engagement celebration for Navin and Reynu. This love birds had their engagement ceremony at Bandar Botanic Club in Klang. They brought in various experts from DJ, sound and lightings to decorator, specifically to convert the place and make it a magical night. It is one magical day for Sheryl and Sandeep on their engagement night. Their sikh engagement took place at a very unique location, in fact Sheryl shared that they are the first to hold a private function there at the Bunga Raya Garden, near Lake Garden. She has spent many hours and days planning the entire function; getting the right suppliers in order to get the right set-ups and decors done. It is no simple task. With god’s blessing, the night went well and everyone praised for a good night of fun celebration! Cheers!

Dhssraj and Risha —  a simple couple with a simple love story. Dhssraj and Risha are both pretty simple, nice and humble person.. I remembered the first time we met Risha for discussion, she is just like the girl-next-door who is so nice to talk to, and you would just want to hang around with her. No surprise Dhssraj is so in love with her, despite her being the girl in braces during her teenage years. Finally the long wait is over, they had finally tied the knot over a week long celebration!
