We have had the wittiest groom in the last post, now we have our next funny yet shy groom, Kristofer. Kris is a phillipino who grew up in malaysia. And melinda is like a career woman who is capable of handling all the wedding planning for their wedding. This couple has nothing less than any ordinary couple, just that they have an extra bit of cuteness in them that would steal the limelight of others. When we were with them, they had this fantastic ’special’ bond and we could just sit and watch them have their conversations. lol. If one’d been with them, you’d know how cute they’d get! =D

During the prep in shangri-la’s hotel, kristofer was shy to let us shoot him when he has no t-shirt on! Yup, he is this shy… and we think he definitely is a keeper. He showed us all the Gucci presents that melinda had gifted him through out their dating years, and said that he’d been keeping them for their ‘big day’ coz very ’sayang’ to use it. How thoughtful of him. Since he is a phillipino, him and his bestmen had put on their tradition clothes, which is called the ‘barong’ instead of tux!! On top of that, kris and mel had both prepared a present for each other, as according to kris, it is the phillipine-chinese tradition. Guess what, they both got each other a Bvlgari watch!

Melinda is every guy’s girl and she is definitely kris’ dream girl. Well, kris fell in love with melinda at first sight and waited till the day she gave him her phone number. She is down-to-earth despite her status, humble and nice girl who is just the prefect one for kris.

This time around we are using a different approach for Cheang and Elaine sde video as they wanted the sde to be somewhat slow-mo. Hence we have specially selected this song to suit the feel. Well, we managed to pull off a good one for them.

Elaine has such adorable puppy who just can’t seem to be parted from her. He would always guard for elaine when people start to walk into the room, and he would bark at the people, but elaine then jokingly said “well what can you do my dear, you can only bark at them, coz you can’t bite…” Lol. I specifically remembered this scene coz i found it funny. Oh well, you’d see how adorable her dog was when elaine was in the preparation process. It was not a hectic day for elaine, and neither was it hectic for cheang. Cheang even had a time to brunch with his family and best-men before they proceed to the church.

It was just about 3 weeks back that we were in mumbai to cover melanie and creswell’s wedding. And now as i am typing this post, all the mumbai experiences that we had with the newly-wed, their bridal family and friends flashed pass my mind. It was quite an unforgettable wedding.

I could still recall creswell’s answer to our question when we asked was there any specific reason that they want their wedding to be in St Francis Xavier Church at Vile Parle, he said it is because this is the same church where melanie’s grandparents and parents got married in and it is in the same town where she spent most of her early childhood years at. And we were not even surprised to learn that they had friends, family and relatives who flew all the way from dubai, chennai and goa to attend their big day in mumbai!

On the bollywood night, it was a real nice experience when we get to see most of melanie’s close friends prepared a good number of performances on stage to entertain the couple and guests. But the fun did not stop there, the fun was followed by the roce ceremony. To see how crazy was the fun, watch their video here.

And on the wedding reception at Hyatt Regency Hotel, the fun and joy was tripled of what we had on the first two days. Boy it was all about dancing and booze-ing, so much so that the dance floor was filled with people all the time. The Dj kept playing retro songs throughout the night as mel and creswell love retros. Hence, we chose a retro song for their wedding highlight video. Hey heys, retro songs rock! Reason being? The retros got the guests’ feet on the dance floor and what do you know, they are all fantastic rhythmic dancers, it felt almost like a high school prom night where their moves were in sync with the music!! The sight filled us with awe. We could just watch them dance whole night long.

They both have such kind and charitable hearts that they had an auction on the top layer of their wedding cake where the proceeds would be donated to the Mother Teresa’s Shishu Bhavan fund. Guess what? The highest bidder was Joanne from dubai and her bid was INR 50,000!! That is close to RM6,600. And the rest of the guests had also donated generously, and the total donation collected on that night was INR 1,17,450! It is the newest idea to have a charity auction on wedding cake on a wedding reception, and yet still be able to help the needy.

It is our great honor to be there to film their pre-weddings and wedding cerebrations, and we certainly gotta thank Rochelle (mel’s sister who has done so much for their wedding preparations and to have arranged everything for us), mel + creswell, the bridal party (chris’s brother jon, anthony, dominic, steve, rochelle, jennifer, rutania and michelle), the ‘little princess’ sadaf (who is so adorable!!), julie (the american photographer from dubai), ryan (the audio manager), joe (the emcee), the harding family, the rebello family, and all the friends and relatives of mel and creswell who have been so so so accommodating, welcoming, friendly, supportive, helpful and nice through out the 3-day wedding filming plus our entire stay in mumbai. It has been an incredible experience and we enjoyed every little bit of our stay there! And it is the most enjoyable wedding that we have covered thus far.

Years have passed, finally had their wedding on the same day as simon’s birthday. It truly was a meaningful “ten-ten” wedding at the tropicana resort ballroom! Not only did they had their wedding car plated 1010, simon even sang a song to his beloved wife upon their entrance march-in during the reception night. Surprise surprise, none of us expected it as simon is rather a shy guy, but he sang really well and now we all know that he is a good singer.

Not only was their wedding an exciting one, but it was more like a friends gathering to us, as we got to meet and catch up with several of our clients, like jessica + suraj, kavi + santhra, and their family =) The feeling was so nice as though we knew everyone there and as if we are a part of them. Anyway, we really want to thank simon + leena for having us there to be part of the celebration and we would like to say we had real great time hanging out with you guys during the pre-wed shoot a couple of months back.

The hot and famous 8TV Quickie host, Belinda has finally tied the knot with her 9 years boyfriend Joe a couple of weeks ago and had their grand KL wedding reception at Shangri’s La Hotel KL. Their wedding reception was somewhat more like a celebrity gathering with all the famous celebs gathered together on this special occasion to celebrate Bel + Joe’s big day! And bel certainly looked stunning with her subtle gold cheongsam, along side with her prince charming, Joe. Both the newly-weds were seen happily mingling with their friends and relatives, and it was a night to remember for them.

It was our honor to film their wedding, and thank you guys for having us for both your kuching and kl wedding. The entire wedding journey was wonderful. Thank you guys and may you have a happy married life! =)

Before i wrap up here with their wedding highlight of both the kuching and kl wedding, allow me to say this:-

We first met suraj + jessica back in march this year. Our first impression on jessy was that she is a bright and happy-go-lucky girl, and suraj was rather the cool type as he barely talk much. But the impression on suraj has changed after we had covered their prenup outdoor shoot and the casual interview session some time back in july. It was then we could see that suraj is actually a shy guy and it takes him quite some time to get close and be comfortable with people. Hence this explains his “coolness” on our first meet up. Well, of course, all his “coolness” was off the chart as we met up with them again in july to cover their prenup shoots. Both jessy and suraj were accommodating during the shoots and had arranged to have our brunch together, so as to break the ice before the shoots! Hehe… guess it did help as thereafter suraj was not shy to unfold their love story with us.

On their wedding night, one of the highlights of the day was when jessy danced along with her dad in the 90’s songs. Her dad, mr louise had stolen some of their limelight on that day, but it was all because jessy has been dearest to him. Hence she had arranged to have her duet dance with dad, after her first dance with suraj. When jessy and her dad was on the dance beat on-stage, they had the guests cheers and attention, for they rocked the party!!!

Belinda, who is the famous 8tv Quickie host has tied the knot with her 9 years’ lover, Joe Yeow (since uni years) on Oct 3rd in her hometown, Kuching. Prior to their wedding day, we had arranged a casual “chit-chat” session with the couple to share their love story and also to get to know them in depth before the wedding day. (a part of the chit-chats is unveiled in the sde video)

On their wedding day, we were glad to have both bel + joe stayed in the hotel suite, as all of their brothers (heng tais), bridemaids and close friends dropped by at their suite to hang out and mingle with them. Their presence had liven up the whole atmosphere with laughters and plenty of interactions with both bel + joe. Joe somewhat got shocked to see their pre-wedding portrait in the Borneo Post papers, as it appeared that one of bel’s friends had published it about a quarter-page size!

The other thing that we should mention is the st. joseph cathedral that bel has chosen to be wedded in. It is not any ordinary church that you can find in kl nor peninsular malaysia. It is one of a kind — it is the oldest cathedral in kuching and also a tradition romanian church with its unique architecture design. We were amazed with the architecture and never had it crossed our mind that we could see such traditionally-grand cathedral in malaysia! The cathedral has been kept to preserve its origin look until today as it only has fans.

A heartfelt big thank you to bel to have arranged her aunt Juliet to care for our transport for the day. Juliet has been very helpful to drive us from one place to another, having to wait for us despite we were a tad bit late, and helped us with any sort of technical issues that needed to be sorted out with the church side. Besides, she had coordinated bel’s kuching wedding whole-heartedly, making sure that everything runs well on the wedding day. And i must say, their wedding is the most relax amongst others that we have attended so far…everyone just chilled and enjoyed the gatherings. Bel looking as stunning as she always has, but this time, in her wedding gown, cheongsam and evening gown, certainly was the star of the day. Not only did bel look gorgeous, the groom – joe himself looked charming and handsome too! They both look so matching and loving together, a perfect match just like the fairy-tale story.

Bel + Joe, thank you for being so cooperative and hospitable during our stay in kuching. Thank you from all of us. =)

melvin and sharon is the total opposite of each other. when they unfold their story with us, we were shocked to learn that melvin kept picking on her and bullying her until her secondary years. but little did they know that god has had plan for them from the day that they met eyes about 20 years back. they then became childhood enemy for years until the day God decided to put a stop to it, thereafter they became close friends and it was also when melvin secretly fell in love with sharon — for 6 long years! he held his feelings for so long and she had no clue that all along his “mystery” girl was actually herself! the fact that they had nothing in common nor share any same interests did not stop them from loving each other more. both mel and sharon had gone through many obstacles that were thrown at them during their dating years, but none of that stopped him nor her from being together. it is truly a dream comes true for both of them to walk down the aisle together as husband and wife from today forward.

many had asked and was curious to know how did their love story started. and that was why they had the emcee sharing their story to the guests before premiering their sde live. as the emcee was telling their story, the entire floor of guests were in all ears and attention, until the end of the sde showcase! everyone was so interested to see their sde and we were no exception at all!(despite we filmed and edited their sde, yes we still watched it together with the guests as it really was touching…) also, we had stationed another cam just to capture sharon and mel’s expression as prior to the reception dinner, they kept asking if they could view it beforehand coz they just couldnt wait till then, but we insisted them to wait till the premiere. (hehe..yeah that was bad of us but gotta keep them in suspense. lol) after seeing their expression, we were more than satisfied and no words could describe how we felt. but the bottom line is that we were glad that they loved it and enjoyed watching the video, as much as we enjoyed editing the clips. one part of us was nervous, while the other part of us was touched to see them happily married after all the hardships.

simply amazingly touching love story… and every family members and guests felt it too for they were all with happy tears and smiles to see mel and sharon walk hand-in-hand as husband and wife.

to mel and sharon: the doodles (yinhon, jared and myself) would like to wish both of you a happy and bless married life, and hopefully with many children to come in the near future. congrats again and thank you for being so accommodative and sharing your inputs with us, as your involvements have made the sde a success! thumbs up and cheers. =))

for the first time, we want to share something special with you. we have done so many premieres on wedding receptions, seen so many different joyous expressions from the brides+grooms, and this time we thought it would be nice to shoot mel+sharon’s reaction while watching the sde premiering live on their reception, and shared it with you here in this split-screen version of their sde. although this clip might not bring the entire live ambience of the wedding like it was in the reception, but we hope you could feel it as much as we do even if you watch it from home.

to mel+sharon, really thank you so much for your inputs and efforts to pull this off successfully.

*Phew*… melvin and sharon’s wedding was sure a chaos and rush one for us. Despite the new gears and all, the one thing that let us down was our dvd drive, which went totally hay-wire. After completed the same-day edit video, the dvd drive suddenly decided to throw temper on us on that critical hours when we needed to burn a copy into dvd. Lucky enough, we could play it directly through laptop, but little did we know that we did not have the phone jack cable to play the audio. And we thought we had screwed up this wedding if we were not able to play the audio.

UNTIL the very last minute, THANK GOD…. Arderson (hope i spell it correctly) who is the DJ from Kanna’s team managed to get us the cable for the showcase. And it was just five minutes before they march-in, we managed to get everything in place. Once again, we really appreciate the help from Ardenson. Thanks bro!

Well, back to the story… mel and sharon started knowing each other about 20 years back at the Grace Hall where they go for their church service. It is where they grew up together and that is why they wanted their wedding ceremony to be held there as well. For them, it is truly the opposite  attraction as they do not share the same interest. What he likes is what she hates and vice versa. That is why they have both decided to share their story with us and together we produce an exceptional sde to bring out the differences between them and and the journey of how they both have came to like each other’s interest. And it truly was a dream come true and a “fairy-tale love story” for them.
